In Q1 2022, Google Maps led the download and active user charts among navigation and maps apps on iOS in Austria. Other top performers included Google Earth, ÖAMTC, Radarbot, and Waze.
During the first quarter of 2022, the performance of the top navigation and maps applications on iOS in Austria showcased interesting trends in downloads and active users. Here’s a closer look at how each app fared based on data from Sensor Tower.
Google Maps achieved significant traction with weekly downloads ranging from around 7.5K to 12.1K, peaking in late March. Active users also saw a consistent rise, starting at approximately 1.06M at the beginning of the quarter and reaching a high of around 1.15M by the end of February before slightly tapering off to 1.12M in late March.
Google Earth had a steady performance with weekly downloads fluctuating between 1.8K and 3.5K. Active users remained relatively stable, starting the quarter at around 11K and peaking at approximately 11.5K in late February.
The Austrian app ÖAMTC experienced a notable peak in downloads, especially in early March with around 2.4K downloads. Active users also saw a significant increase, rising from 2.6K at the start of the quarter to a peak of about 4.8K in early March. Revenue, however, saw a decline, starting at $10 and dropping to $4 by the end of March.
Radarbot: Speed Cameras | GPS from Iteration Mobile S.L maintained a steady revenue stream, peaking at around $2K in late December and then seeing smaller peaks throughout the quarter. Downloads varied from around 650 to 985, with active users remaining consistent at approximately 4.5K to 4.8K throughout the quarter.
Finally, Waze Navigation & Live Traffic had a steady download rate ranging from 550 to 850 per week. Active users showed a slight decline from around 62K at the beginning of the quarter to about 57K by the end of March.
